Our Leading Staff

Kingdom Childcare and Learning Center prides itself on its qualified and experienced staff.  All staff are required to complete a screening process and undergo extensive orientation training and a three month probationary period.  Staff must complete a minimum of 18 hours of Child Day Care Services related in-service training each year.  The Director is required to complete 40 hours of childcare and administrative training.  Staff are also certified in CPR and First Aid within the first six months of employment.

CEO/

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

DR. SHERYL BURNS

Currently as Founder and CEO at Kingdom Harvest Church (KHCC), a community-based initiative which provides temporary emergency shelter and support services to battered women and children, Dr. Burns oversees the operations of the organization. She pioneered the vision in 2002 in Colorado Springs where she built and established partnerships within her state and serviced over 1,000 deserving families. Previously, as Owner and Visionary of It’s All Good Soul Food Restaurant, Dr. Burns boosted the economic climate of a bankrupt shopping plaza by introducing the city to her delicious soul food and impeccable standard of customer service.

 

For seven years, the restaurant served as the preferred gathering spot for good food and grossed over $300,000 in the first year alone. Earlier, she began her entrepreneurial journey by transforming her home into a fully functional daycare that grew into a self-sustaining business and later became Kingdom Childcare and Learning Center. Dr. Burns holds a PhD from Spoken Word Ministries International. She is a wife, mother, motivational speaker, author, certified life coach, and an inspiration to many.

LEAD TEACHER

AGES INFANT-2 YRS OLD

Javonda Adams

Ms. Javonda discovered early on was her passion for children, education and the ability to influence the lives of the next generation. Throughout her journey she grew in knowledge, and skill, while taking many state approved trainings, hands on courses and peer partnership with degreed teachers in the field, with over 20 years of experience.

 

Javonda has diligently strived to become a well versed and well balanced asset to the childcare industry. She has worked with infants, toddlers, preschool, Pre-K, and school aged children. Most recently, she spent 3 years as a Supervisor in a thriving Christian childcare center with over 100 children. Upon completion of her CDA,

 

Javonda is also working towards completion of her CDA as she hopes to continue to serve the diverse families and communities around her.

ASSISTANT TEACHER

CHRISTINA BURNS

As assistant teacher for Kingdom Childcare, Ms. Tina ensures the facility is a safe and fun place for children to learn. 

Ms. Tina sets up the physical environment to meet changing needs, maintains a safe, clean, and pleasant environment, models and instructs other adults in best practice, and provides information to parents regarding their children as well as general child development information.  

Ms. Tina holds a dual bachelors with focus in criminal justice and business administrator and has 5+ years of experience in childcare. Her attention to detail and high standards of excellence make Kingdom Childcare an environment for growth and progression.

ASSITANT DIRECTOR

TIFFANE' MCGHEE

As assistant director for Kingdom Childcare, Mrs. Tiffane'   ensures the facility is a safe and fun place for children to learn. She is tasked with a wide variety of responsibilities, including managing staff, interacting with parents, and marketing and financial duties. She enjoys working with children and wants to provide the students at Kingdom Childcare with the best possible experience.

She runs and operates  front entrance reception and is certified Level 2 security clearance needed for childcare. She is also responsible for managing the web content coordination for KCLC website, managing edits and updates to KCLC staff and parent handbooks, creation of POs for KCLC, management of supplies and equipment for KCLC. 

As previous regional manager for Kroger, she specializes in customer service, accounting, and business operations. Her professionalism and dedication bring life into the daycare facility  and make Kingdom Childcare and Learning center a warm inviting atmosphere.

ASSISTANT TEACHER 

AGES 1-2 YR OLD

PAMELA PORTER

 Pamela serves as the Lead Teacher for ages 3-5  and is  trained in day care services  and early child development and has experience working with children infant-to preschool age in a childcare setting.

As the lead teacher, she works to develop activities around the current lesson plan. She  also works directly with the children, helps prepare materials, plans and implement activities, interacts with the children, and works closely with all parents.

As a seasoned childcare professional, she also brings a unique  and fresh perspective to the classroom. Introducing new elements and a unquie style to approaching learning and foundational concepts.

Her passion is helping children fall in love with learning and t0 see the growth and development  young minds.  She currently has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood education.

NUTRITIONAL ATTENDENT

ERKIA BOYLES

Mrs. Erika reports to the Director of Kingdom Childcare, amd assists with the supervision and coordination of the activities of the cafeteria. Ensures that all food items are prepared in a quality manner and served on a timely basis. Coordinates goals and meets objectives of the childcare center.

Ensures that children enjoy a healthy diet,  create meal plans,  and monitors eating habits to provide information to director about dietary issues. Also prepare meals and  supervises meal preparation to ensure that the foods offered meet children's nutritional needs.

As a mother of seven, Mrs. Erika has brought her skill, expertise, and patience to Kingdom Childcare. She is the heart of our ourganization and her infectious smile and joyful demanor make her the highlight of our childcare facility.
